Since June 6th, thousands of people have traversed the UK as part of the Running Out of Time climate relay. The relay is an ambitious non-stop relay from Ben Nevis to Big Ben to highlight the impact of climate change and call on decision makers to take action.

You can find out more here

GoodGym is a key partner of the relay and is calling on all GoodGymers to get involved. There have been session across most GoodGym areas in the last month and this is the BIG one - the grand finale!

Bring the baton to Parliament Square

This leg of the relay will take the baton from Potters Field Park near London Bridge, along the river, across Westminster Bridge and into Parliament Square. It's an 4.1km run or walk and they aim to complete it in 50 minutes so a nice gentle pace for everyone.

You can see the route here

This will be a led run/walk with everyone running/walking together.

The run/walk will start at 19.05 and we will arrive at Parliament Square at 19.55.

Once in the square there will be celebrations and speeches for which everyone is encouraged to stay for.

How to sign up

To join the relay you'll need to sign up on the Running Out of Time website. You can also join the GoodGym team as part of the relay. Sign up here.

Each leg of the relay has it's own dedicated web page with all the details. Once you have created an account using the link above you can sign up to as many legs as you like. Sign up for this leg here.

The Running Out of Time relay is a mammoth undertaking. This year they are adopting a ‘pay what you want‘ approach. There’s no pressure to pay – everyone is welcome and the more people who take part, the more impact we’ll all have. However, we are a group of volunteers and have substantial costs to cover. So, if anyone is able to pay an entrance fee, then thank you for doing so.

Election Day Extra!!

You may have noticed the date of this session - election day! The relay was planned way before the election was called and will be going ahead as planned. The relay team have been given permission to use Parliament Square as was always agreed.

The election will add extra significance to the event - passing the baton onto a new government and asking them to prioritise the planet.
