Wedge Trimming
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Bromley.

Mr G told Sevan that his garden was a mess. It's true that it was a bit overgrown. Not too dramatic by GoodGym standards, so it looked reasonably simple. Mr G's daughter then said that the hedge next to the pavement was the priority as the fence was due to be painted soon. That made it more complicated as Sevan would want to trim inside the iron railings to leave a gap between the plants and fence.
Most of the time was taken trying to squeeze some long armed shears between the railings and the hedge. That was until Sevan figured out a new strategy. He needed put a wedge in to separate those 2 things. The plastic bucket for cuttings did the job and made the whole process much speedier. After that, Sevan flew through 4m of privet hedge with the shears and loppers, then a small shrub too.
The next bush put up a tougher challenge with it's thick foliage and branches. Sevan couldn't even see the branches to lop them off, so a lot of touching was needed to work out where the branches were and care taken not to cut fingers 😱
Most of the fence was cleared by the end of the task, ready for the painter whenever they come.
