Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Share the love

This was one of GoodGym's toughest challenges, not just racing the clock, ourselves or other runners but taking on thorough-bred, well trained, four-legged horses across 22 miles of unknown mountainous terrain.

Guided by the expert planning of Tom Johann Benson we arrived safely at our bunkhouse on Friday night where a runners' feast was prepared. After some nail balancing, murder solving and munching, we were sleeping merrily.

It was the day of the big race, midges, rivers, mountains and horses, not your usual run in the park. Every single runner completed the race or their relay leg and there were many smiles amongst the bites, drizzle and mud.

Particular shout outs to:

The Mo Farriers for winning the relay team name competition.
Why the long race? for winning the mixed relay. Everyone who ran for GoodGym for coming 3rd overall in the team competition. Everyone who made us the noisiest club since the (well-named) Pontypridd Roadents AC. Those running their first off-road races (that was a tough start!). Tom Johann Benson.

See you at the next one.
