Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
11 people attempted a mission, and delivered leaflets for an innovative project for Holloway Neighbour.
It was a warm balmy evening in Islington this week as 11 people set off from the Swimming baths on Highbury Fields. We had 2 missions to cover this week. The first was a mission to help an elderly local resident shift a fridge, sofa and oven from his flat, and the other was to promote a service to help those with stress related illness.
Unfortunately the mission didn't go as planned as when Paul, Ria and Rosalind arrived there was noone at home. But rest assured all is ok- we've spoken to him this morning and there was just some confusion about dates! We're off to help next week.
Stress Support
The rest of us headed to Holloway Neighbourhood Group. We were there to deliver some flyers for the Stress Project. This scheme offers low cost counselling and therapy services for local people with stress related illnesses.
Pretty Fly
We broke into 2 teams and each took a stack of flyers and a map. Our task was to see how many flyers we could deliver in 20mins before we dashing back to the centre. We did a cracking job- delivering around 500 flyers in double quick time.
Getting Technical
Just as it started to rain we headed back to the Emirates stadium for a bit of running technique practise. We ran a few 80metre strides focusing on different cues each time. Just as we were about to finish the mission team arrived so we finished the night with a couple of relay races before moseying back to Highbury Fields for a stretch!
Nice one guys.
PS I'm sorry I forgot to take pictures!
