Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Monday night, GoodGym Islington night. Our usual spiritual leader Simon was away (booooo) but he was replaced by me, Shaun (lukewarm applause).
We are also dealt a curve ball as the scheduled task pulled out at the last minute. Allow a group of GG members headed of to help out an elderly gent shift a bunch of white goods (report below), the rest of us stayed local, engaging in an interval sesh round Highbury Fields.
After a few specific running drills (co-ordination is a difficult skill....) we ran a host of intervals. We legged it round the field- running out for 30secs, turning and trying to get back to our starting position in exactly the same time. We did a fair few sets finishing with a round of 1min reps.
We also boshed out a few exercises too- holding some challenging planks and dropping a few squats before we jogged back to the Swimming Baths for a stretch.
Great work guys- should have meaty task for you next week.
Here is a mission report from serial good deed doer Paul Bown.
Sofa it down
This Monday we were going to try to do the mission again in Angel, this time Noel was definitely in the building. Richard, Sarah, Ben, Patrick, Ros and I (Paul) made our way from Highbury fields, along Upper street and right down to Noel's house. A nice 2.5km well done guys!
We made our way through the building and were mission ready. The task was to take two sofa chairs, wheelie chair, fridge, oven, mattress and sofa bed down one flight of stairs to the street where it will be collected by the council. We went in pairs taking the various items around the bends and curves of the block of flats.
We said our goodbyes to Noel, took some great pictures and ran back uphill to Highbury Fields. Well done guys - good running and missioning!
