A big GG Islington welcome to new member Sarah, and first-timers Giovanni and Mark last night.

Is it summer yet? It was actually a little bit chilly when we started yesterday evening.

But we know how to warm up in Islington so once gathered we headed round to our special alien pods for some of our famous alien circuits. Somebody hasn't been doing their mowing because they were a little hard to find. Still, we managed and did our press ups, star jumps, squats and calf raises and brought a little rosiness to our cheeks before heading up to Grenville Road to meet FROGG (Friends of Grenville Road Gardens).

On arrival we were greeted by Jessica, Sarah, an empty and freshly-constructed raised bed, and a giant heap of soil.

The job was obvious: get that heap of dirt into the raised bed so that FROGG can start growing some veg.

So, we set to work with shovels, spades, wheelbarrow and buckets and filled it up very very quickly. We even had time to spread a bit of the spare heap over the existing flower beds and do a bit of watering.

We had a mangetout or two (delicieux, merci) and then set off for Emirates Stadium for a quick spot of letter fartlek before heading back to the pool and stretching the weary muscles.

Tonight's biscuit: chocolate caramel digestive. Very popular. Tonight's debate: Is Ikea rubbish? Steve swears blind that they always include the instructions. Some of us were sceptical. We were going to have a vote, but forgot. Oh well.

Next week is theme night and time trial night. There may be a smackdown between Paul (record holder) and David (former record holder). Nail-biting times!
